With sales of 64,063 units in 2013, the Honda Civic outsold its closest competitor by 9,303 units to retain its position as Canada’s best-selling passenger car for the 16th consecutive year.
This remarkable feat is a testament to the durability, quality and reliability that Canadians have come to expect from Honda and the delicate balance of safety, fuel efficiency and fun-to-drive attributes that Civic delivers, year after year.
“We truly value the trust that our customers put in us when they buy a Civic,” said Dave Gardner, vice president of sales and marketing, Honda Canada Inc. “Nearly every Civic sold in Canada is built for Canadians, by Canadians, right here in our Ontario manufacturing facility. Sixteen years is an accomplishment that the entire Honda family can be very proud of; from our 4,200 associates in Alliston, to our regional and national staff and 230 dealers across the country.”
Since 1973, more than 3.9-million Honda Civics have been manufactured by Canadians at Honda of Canada Mfg. in Alliston, Ontario and more than 1.7-million Civics have been parked in driveways across the country over the years, with approximately one million still on the road today.
Honda’s commitment to constantly improve the Civic culminates in the new 2014 Civic, which is now available in Canadian dealerships and features numerous improvements including increased technology, better fuel efficiency, an improved driving experience and a restyled coupe exterior.
